The Family of the Month award for January 2019 was presented to Brother John Guevremont, his wife Teri, and his son Nick (also a brother Knight). Well over a year ago, Teri and John proposed that their winery be the site for families in the parish to come and pray the Rosary on a regular basis. Teri asked for the support of the Knights and, with the able assistance of Brother Bob Klaus, the Third Sunday Rosary at Quievremont Winery has become a great success. Nick assists in hosting the monthly event. Frequently our Pastor and Council Chaplain, Fr. Beres, is able to attend and leads us in prayer.
There is no substitute for sincerity in belief and actions. Brother John, Teri, and Nick run a farm, a vineyard, a winery, and the entirety of their lives with their Catholic faith always at the center of their work and in way that others can see. They give good example to all and are truly deserving of this award.
John has has also opened up his winery as a venue for Council #14755 meetings and socials. Grand Knight Pete Gasper had hoped to present the award to the Guevremonts at a meeting / social on January 14th, but the event had to be cancelled due to inclement weather. So, the award was presented under somewhat less formal circumstances at the Third Sunday Rosary on the evening of January 20th.
