What we do here at St. Peter Catholic Church on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ is more than just tradition. What we do is an integral part of our parish life. First, we participate in a solemn procession, led by Fr. Beres reverently bearing the Most Holy Eucharist. Next, we come together as a family of believers to share in a summer-time picnic.
Even if the temperatures are in the nineties, as they were on June 22nd, those who participated in the procession and those who prepared the picnic feast took little notice of the discomforts. Instead, the shared in they joy of a beautiful feast and worked as one to make this the highlight of the season.
Once again, thanks to Executive Chef Tom Junk for his acquisition of needed supplies and watchful eye, ensuring that the associate chefs get it just right.
Thanks also to Grand Knight John Warzinski for coordinating, planning, and mustering volunteers. He knows, as all of us Knights of Columbus know, that we are brothers in Christ dedicated to serving our Catholic Church and our Parish. We also know that our wives and other contributing members of the parish give freely of their time and labor to make this event a great success.
