Dear folks: This past Sunday we had recalled for us the resurrection appearance of our Lord in which Thomas is not there one Sunday and then the next Sunday he is. The apostles that had seen the Lord explained and testified to Thomas that Jesus has indeed been raised from the dead but he refused to believe saying he would only do so if he could put his fingers in the nail marks and his hand into the open side of our Lord. When he finally sees the Lord on that second Sunday he does profess faith for he says “my Lord and my God.” Even with the risen Christ in front of him, Thomas was still only seeing a man yet professed Him to be God. We then who have not seen the risen Lord are called blessed for we believe the testimony of the apostles that Jesus is risen. May that faith lead us safely to heaven where the same risen glory will be ours.
